How to make Star Origami/Shuriken, Hidden Sword in the Hand, origami

Prepare 2 piece of origami paper and fold in half, then cut them in half.

We will use half of each origami paper. Vally-fold origami in half. (so 1/4 of original width now)

flatten and open.

Fold to meet the center line, and fold another side to the center line.

Do the same for the yellow origami.

Vally-fold the left top corner of the purple origami to meet the purple’s right edge.

Vally-fold the right bottom corner of the purple origami to meet the  left edge.

* Be careful! You have to do the opposite for the yellow origami*
Vally-fold the right top corner of the yellow origami to meet the yellow left edge.
Vally-fold the left bottom corner of the yellow origami to meet the  right edge.

Fold the both origami in half  as shown below right.

Unfold.  Hold the purple origami’s top and twist it to the left so that  right edge meets the center line of the purple origami.

You should see a triangle on the top half, like shown below.
Hold the purple origami’s bottom & twist it to the right so that  left edge meets the center line of the purple origami.

You should see top and bottom purple triangles.
Now, hold the yellow origami’s top and twist it to the right so that  left edge meets the center line of the yellow origami. Hold the yellow origami’s bottom & twist it to the left so that right edge meets the center line of the yellow origami.

Flip over the yellow origami.

 

Place the purple origami over the yellow origami, like shown below LEFT picture.
(*Positioning is very important*)
Valley-fold the yellow top corner of the triangle and flatten. Insert the right corner of PURPLE triangle into the yellow origami, and insert yellow top corner of the triangle into up-side-down purple origami.

Fold the yellow bottom corner of the triangle up and flatten. Insert the yellow bottom corner of the yellow triangle into the bottom edge of the purple triangle.

Flip over. The origami should look like the picture on the right hand side below.

Valley-fold the left purple wing down and insert it into yellow origami’s diagonal pocket.

Valley-fold the right purple’s wing up and insert it into the yellow origami’s diagonal pocket.

You made a Star, or Ninja’s Hidden Sword in the Hand Origami!
